Owners, Stephanie and James have over 40 years Hospitality experience between them and have a love of food, wine and travel.
Travelling throughout Europe, Australia and NZ every year, they draw inspiration from wine bars around the World, none more notably than in Paris and Barcelona.
You will get a sense of this ‘European’ bar feel as you enter the Local Larder. The interiors of the space are darker, more rustic, but also very welcoming.
James, a well regarded wine professional, is constantly reworking the wine list and wine shop range.
Steph’s knowledge for cheese and European delicacies are also on display along with many more substantial food offerings, that pair perfectly with the 30 plus wines offered by the glass.
The staff at the Larder are a highlight of your experience. Always joyful, passionate with some of the best service skills you will find in QLD.
What we offer :
Tuesday through to Saturday, the ‘Larder’ (as it is affectionately known by the locals), offers Allpress coffee and breakfast delights from 8am. From midday till late, the Larder offers an all day dining menu consisting of European share plates, traditional Italian pizzas and hearty mains, like lamb ragu, scallop linguini & Wagyu beef brisket. Add to this some of the World’s best cheese and desserts created from locally sourced ingredients and you’ll be more than satisfied.
On Sundays we open from midday till 7pm offering a weekly grazing menu accompanied with wine flights. On the last Sunday of every month we will also have live music playing between 4pm and 6pm. Make sure you book ahead as these days book out fast.
The wine list, a joy to consume, is full of wines you may have never seen before, carefully sourced from around the world with a focus on local wineries too.
All of the wines selected for our wine shop are painstakingly tasted and assessed before being ranged. All of the wines selected for the wine list are what we think to be the best of these wines, based on variety, style, drinkability, price & importantly for our food options.
The Larder currently holds 3 goblets (best of the best) for their wine list, judged by the world’s foremost wine professionals through the Gourmet Traveler Wine Magazine.
